Nature Therapy | Certified Nature-Informed Practitioner

Therapy, with nature as your co-therapist.

Walk-and-talk sessions on a lakeside trail. Therapy in a gazebo, or by a campfire. Or simply an office filled with plants and the sounds and scents of the woods. Here, nature is woven in.

Why Nature Therapy?

You already know how you feel after time outside. Calmer. Clearer. More like yourself. Decades of research show that time in nature lowers stress hormones, eases anxiety and depression, and helps the nervous system settle.

In Nature Therapy we make it an active part of your healing. I'm a Certified Nature-Informed Practitioner, and this work is the reason I became a therapist in the first place. Nature brought me back to life once. I've built my practice around helping it do the same for you.

Nature is infused in every session

Every client of mine gets a bit of nature therapy, even if we never go outdoors.

My office is intentionally built for it: plants and natural light, the scents of pine and cedar, the sounds of birdsong and running water. I keep the space in tune with the season outside, so you experience the beauty of each one, which matters especially if the darker months are hard for you. Even my telehealth clients get a scenic view: green, flowers, and the birds at the feeders behind me.

Think of it as a quiet, steady dose of the calm your nervous system is looking for.

Outdoor Options

Sessions on my property

We might meet in the gazebo surrounded by green, or, for evening sessions, by a campfire. In colder months, there's even a fireplace inside

Walk-and-talk therapy

One of my favorite places to meet is a small state park one town over, with a gorgeous lake and a gentle trail that loops around it in about an hour. We walk, we talk, and we stop often to take it in. The trail is easygoing and suits nearly every fitness level.

What we actually do out there

I'll guide you to notice what's around us and connect it to your own life. I offer original nature-based meditations, and if you want to go deeper between sessions, I'll share simple take-home practices to keep building your connection with the natural world.

The Practical Details

Nature therapy is for you if…

  • You’ve always felt connected to nature

  • You’re curious, and want to build a relationship with the natural world that you’ve never quite had.

  • Or you used to feel connected to it, life got in the way, and now you want that connection back

You don't need to be “outdoorsy”. You don't need gear or experience. Just a little openness to the experience.

Nature Intensives

For those who want a more immersive experience, I offer personalized nature therapy intensives: extended one-on-one sessions (think 2-3 hours) built around deeper time in nature. These can also be designed for a small group of friends who want to share the experience.

And in the works: small-group nature retreats for women. Overnight, canoeing, camping, and coming back to yourself in good company. These aren't on the calendar yet, but they're coming. If the idea makes something in you say yes, reach out and you’ll be the first to know when I have more details.
